CREWE FC hope to bolster their ranks for the new season.

The Cheshire League Division Two club is eying some fresh faces to help mount a promotion push come August.

Boss Ian O’Reilly hopes they can wrap up signatures.

“We’ve got a couple in mind,” he said.

“They haven’t put pen to paper yet but we’re hoping to get it sorted.

“We’ve got a centre-half who has been playing in Sheffield and just finished at University.

“Jon Dawson has put him in touch with us.

“The other is one I’ve chased up.

“He’s a local lad, a centre-forward who has scored a lot in Sunday football.

“Steve’s got a couple he’s speaking to so hopefully we’ll have a few new faces in.”

New first-team coach Steve Harding is already having an impact and O’Reilly believes the club will benefit.

“He’s got them training twice a week so we could be prepared better than ever,” he added.

“A few of the lads haven’t turned in yet and they’ll miss the boat.

“We want competition for places and young lads like Danny Lloyd haven’t missed a session yet so they’ll move up the ladder.”

Leading scorer Joey Alcott should pick up his accolade for banging the goals in at the club’s Awards Night imminently.
