A MAN who kept hundreds of pornographic images involving animals on his iPad has had his device taken away by the courts.
Philip Hayes has been handed a community order after admitting to the possession of 682 extreme pornographic images.
The pictures concerned involved people performing sexual acts with animals.
These offences were committed in Winsford between March 31, 2016 and April 5, 2023.
Hayes, of Wolvesey Place in Winsford, indicated a plea of guilty in February before appearing at Crewe Magistrates Court on Tuesday (March 26) for sentencing.
The 51-year-old was handed an 18-month community order, ending in September 2025.
As part of this, Hayes must complete 30 days of rehabilitation activity.
The order also means he will be deprived of his iPad, as the images had been recovered from the device.
Alongside this, Hayes must pay a £323 fine, costs of £120 and a surcharge of £60.
