A TEEN smeared blood and spit on police cell windows.
Brandon Gibbons has been sentenced after admitting to damaging a holding cell at the Middlewich Custody Suite.
Defending, Sam Fixter explained the 19-year-old had been arrested by Cheshire Police officers on August 19 last year.
He had a 'very injured hand' which was 'bleeding profusely', although it is unclear how this injury came about.
“Instead of waiting he wiped his hand across the window,” Mr Fixter added.
“I believe he was then shipped straight to hospital. Perhaps he should’ve been taken there to begin with.”
As a result of the mess made by Gibbons, Cheshire Police had to call in a specialist cleaning company, costing the force £45.48.
He was not charged with any offence relating to the initial arrest.
At Crewe Magistrates Court on Tuesday (February 20) Gibbons admitted to the offence and was ordered to pay back the cleaning fee as well as a £100 fine.
Gibbons was also sentenced for a public order offence committed on December 5.
Prosecuting, Katie Johnson explained a 999 call had been made to police following reports of a 'domestic incident' at a Premier Inn in Crewe.
Staff had knocked on the door and asked them to keep the noise down before witnessing Gibbons 'shouting loudly and leaning into a female’s face'.
Mr Fixter said this was the result of Gibbons being given 'some news', adding that his client admits to swearing.
For this, magistrate Andrew Kerr ordered Gibbons, of Broom Street in Crewe, to pay a £150 fine, as well as a surcharge of £100 and court costs of £120, taking his total to £515.48.
As he made his way out of the courtroom, Gibbons said: “See you later.”
