A MAN has been taken to hospital following a crash on a country lane.

Emergency services were called to the outskirts of Northwich yesterday (August 29) after a collision between two vehicles.

Two people had to be rescued from the vehicles following the crash, which happened at around 6.30pm along Cogshall Lane, near Comberbach.

North West Ambulance Service has confirmed that one of these people, a man in his 40s, suffered a leg injury and had to be rushed to hospital.

A pair of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service engines were also sent to the scene, one each from the Lymm and Northwich stations.

Firefighters helped to free the two people who had been trapped in their respective vehicles.

A CFRS spokesperson said: “A collision involving two vehicles left two casualties trapped, one in each vehicle.

“Firefighters extricated the casualties and handed them into the care of the ambulance service.

“The crews made the vehicles safe.

“Police also attended.”

Cheshire Police has stated no arrests were made following the crash.

A spokesperson said: "At 6.29pm on August 29 police were called to a collision on Cogshall Lane, Little Leigh. 

"The collision involved a silver Ford Van and a white Mercedes AMG.

"There were no reports of any serious injuries and no arrests were made."
