Rotarians celebrate 23 years of good work
OVER 100 people helped members of the Rotary Club of Crewe & Nantwich Weaver celebrate its 23rd birthday at Nantwich Civic Hall.
The club's president, well known local farmer, Philip Percival had invited many friends from the local farming community, as well as members' partners and Rotarians from other clubs, including Deputy Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich, Cllr Margaret Martin, Rotary District Governor Mike Payne and his wife Beryl.
They all enjoyed a meal at the Civic Hall, followed by entertainment which included many amusing tales by Carmarthen farmer, Deryc Rees.
District Governor Mike paid tribute to the club, which is well known for its charity and community work both locally and further afield, including its recently resumed Nantwich Tours which take place every Sunday afternoon throughout the Summer.
On the evening itself, over £450 was raised as a result of a tombola run by President Philip, his wife Joyce and their family.
Founded in April 1985, the club meets at 7.45 PM every Wednesday evening at The Crown Hotel in Nantwich.
