HOLLYWOOD’S favourite syrup-loving hero Nicholas Cage is back as Benjamin Gates, the treasure hunting anorak who stops at nothing in his quest for the holy grail of American history and treasure.
Gates finds himself in another race against time and the bad guys after mystery man Mitch Wilkinson, comes forward to implicate his great-great-grandfather as a conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Outraged and insulted, Gates goes gung-ho with his partners, Abigail and Riley, dad, Patrick, and just to add a little touch of English class mum, Emily, to uncover the City of Gold.
The usual suspects from the first effort are back, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel along newcomer Helen Mirren but it's predictable stuff.
A dash of American history, plenty of action and a handful of cheeseball lines form Cage - if you liked the first or you're a fan of the balding one, you'll enjoy it.
